About
Stuart Kinghorn and Rebecca Kestle, DVM are dedicated to the Akita breed and have a small kennel near Atlanta, GA. They met at the 2000 Akita National show where Stuart was visiting from Scotland. They were later married and combined dogs to form Jenscot Akitas. Click here to see the dogs who are a part of our history.
Stuart brought a lovely bitch from Scotland, Ch. Tanglemuir Barr’s Miracle “Fern”, who has produced some very nice puppies. JenScot Akitas is dedicated to breeding healthy Akitas, sound in mind and body. All of the JenScot dogs are OFA’d, thyroid tested and have their eyes CERF’d annually.
Rebecca Kestle, DVM, formerly of Akita Jens, has bred/co-owned over 30 champions and has been active in Akita rescue and education of judges and Akita owners. She is the founder of Dogwood Akita Club of Georgia and active in various dog clubs in the Atlanta area. She owns Centre Court Veterinary Clinic and Canine Reproductive Services in Atlanta.
Stuart Kinghorn is a master carpenter. One of the JenScot puppies, Jenscot’s Bridge to Tantallon, was named after the bridge Stuart built at Tantallon Castle in Scotland as an apprentice when he was 17 years old. Stuart and Rebecca’s love of Akitas brought them together and we hope you enjoy visiting their site.
